With the transformation of the Centro de Estudos de Antropologia Aplicada (CEAA) in one research unit with a wider designation, we aim to value and strengthened the interdisciplinary of the research units in prior research areas of CEAA, where a major part of these researchers have already collaborated.

Therefore, following the direction of CEAA’s research, we aim to produce practical and theoretical research in the fields of Social and Human Sciences focusing on the areas we consider essential for our contemporary societies, namely:

1. Innovative and critical studies on the concept of heritage and its role for the social and economical development.
2. To analyze the relations and implications between social and cultural reality and sustained ecological development.
3. Ethnical groups, migrations and citizenship research on the Global Society.
4. To intensify and propose intervention and research on Health studies, economical development and life quality in an holistic strategy, promoting a social-cultural, economic and bio-social approach.
5. Conduct researches in language and communication as a way of promoting local culture and building a global communicative society.
6. Take part on the cultural society through new practices and new aesthetics.

The objectives of CECLICO on a practical and organization level are:

1. Increase competitiveness through the PhD and post PhD projects on the research lines of the Unit.
2. Motivating graduation and post-graduation students on I&D activities.
3. To increase the international role of our scientific activities through the cooperation with other institutions, creating insideCECLICO a work group for this task.
4. Increase the role of the unit researchers in national and international scientific publications and in research teams.
5. Promoting the research’s achievements through the publishing in recognized national and international periodics.
6. Promoting the Unit publications by introduce them on the International Indexes (Antropológicas is on the Latin-AmericanIndex for Social Sciences).
7. Creating a technical support team for the development and public knowledge of the I&D activities (e.g., revisers, translators).
